For this customer, members of the ResQSoft staff built an enterprise level web survey tool using ResQSoft™ Engineer. The development began as a rewrite of ResQSoft's existing WebSurvey 5.9 software product, but was expanded in a number of significant ways to accommodate hundreds of Education-specific requirements. The WebSurvey software has
- database-driven survey content (questions and choices are all in the database),
- 508 compliance for complex surveys,
- an entirely web-based interface for authoring and taking surveys,
- skip patterns and other advanced business rules,
- feedback links and online help,
- customizable look and feel,
- role-based security,
- email follow-ups and reminders,
- ballot box stuffing prevention,
- ability to interrupt and resume survey completion,
- survey content approval workflow,
- anonymous and identified survey modes, and
- a hierarchical database of survey respondents
The survey software has been used to support projects for large organizations operating in secure modes. Survey content can be published to secure servers behind the firewall, on machines to which there is no physical access.
The software also has prepopulation support for integration with external databases, CD publishing, bar-coded paper surveys, help desk support, and enhanced workflow, along with a virtually unlimited approval hierarchy, delegation of responses to subordinates, editing of responses, and new response types.
ResQSoft, Inc. went the extra mile for this customer, delivering significant functionality and services that exceeded requirements. When the Department's computer system was not ready for use, ResQSoft deployed WebSurvey on its own servers in production mode to handle some of the time-sensitive needs of a critical nationwide survey for the Office of Civil Rights. ResQSoft also authored over 3000 business rules and assisted the customer with survey content creation.
ResQSoft also performed database integration tasks, optimizing an XML based import to pre-populate survey information from an external database (DARS). During this effort, run times were reduced by a factor of more than 100 to accommodate running the job on a smaller platform than ResQSoft originally recommended.
